Nathan Taylor Evans

Nathan Taylor Evans

Nathan is about 3 1/2 months old now.  He is named Nathan in honor of Nate Saint, a Christian missionary to Ecuador, who was martyred in 1956 while spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a savage group of natives called Aucas.

Nathan is not at all what I expected from a newborn…he rarely cries or complains and is so alert and happy, particularly first thing in the morning.

He has already gone through tons of clothes that friends gave to us.

Nathan’s Aunt Holly made this quilt for him.  Every member of the family drew something on a square and she put it together.

Thanks Aunt Holly!

Twiddling Thumbs

We are now just over 3 weeks from our due date. People ask if we are ready. The logistics are all in place and the waiting period is here, but it seems that Jennifer always finds something else to keep her busy. I joke about sitting in the rocking chair in the baby room twiddling my thumbs, waiting for him to arrive. I’m not normally a very patient person, but I know in this case, that he will arrive at exactly the right time.

What will he look like? What color will his eyes and hair(if any) be? What changes are in store for us?

I have so many questions and so many things I want to share with him! He will have so many decisions and choices to make in his lifetime. We know that he will make some good ones along with some not so good ones, but that is how you learn and mature.

“So commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these words of mine. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, so that as long as the sky remains above the earth, you and your children may flourish in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors.

Yes, after nearly a year of creating this site, it’s finally time for the first post!

Much has happened in the past year.

For instance,

This little GUY is scheduled to “drop in” on us in Mid-July!

What a blessing! Praise God!
